AKPWORX

Materials & Manufacturing

Designed around the job, not the process.

AKPworx uses in-house additive manufacturing to produce practical parts in small batches. It lets us prototype quickly, refine designs and manufacture products that would often be uneconomical using conventional high-volume processes.

Material selection

We select material according to the product's intended use rather than applying one material to the entire range. Relevant material and application information will be stated on individual product pages.

Where a product requires particular temperature, chemical, impact or flexibility characteristics, those requirements are considered as part of the design. We do not apply blanket claims such as fuel-safe, chemical-proof or heat-proof across the entire range.

What to expect from an additively manufactured part

Layer lines and small cosmetic variations are a normal feature of the manufacturing process. They do not automatically indicate a defect. Functional surfaces, fit and intended use matter more to us than making a workshop product look injection-moulded.

Continuous improvement

Small-batch manufacturing allows AKPworx to improve products as we learn from real use. Minor non-functional details may therefore evolve over time while compatibility and intended function are maintained.
